Stuck In My Skull 495 -- "Crave You (Adventure Club Remix)"

Song: "Crave You" || Original Artist: Flight Facilities || Remixing Artist: Adventure Club || http://youtu.be/ZeaIvjoH1FY ||
Comments: Good morning everyone! Today's intended entry is postponed due to Soundcloud being weird, but check back Friday for something new and hot! Today, let's talk about older but still amazing. This is, hands down, one of my favourite dubstep songs. Its remix by Adventure Club actually sounds nothing like the original song, but this reinterpretation does wonderful things to the original vocals and beat. The drop here isn't quite as massive as some more recent hits, but I'm actually fine with that. This song somehow manages to straddle the line between dub- and chill-step and does a masterful job of it. I've never yet been disappointed by Adventure Club's remixes, and this is no exception. Go give it a listen!

I've got the Monday's....

Written By Christopher Audiophile on Monday, February 24, 2014 | 2/24/2014 04:06:00 PM

Sorry folks, no real entry today. Between my insane schedule and a rather bad case of the Mondays, I just couldn't get to writing one in time. But that's okay, This Beat is Newtricious has the antidote to your Monday blues.

Stuck In My Skull 494 -- "TNT"

Song: "TNT" || Artist: AC/DC || http://youtu.be/pR30knJs4Xk ||
Comments: Good morning, everyone! Sorry for not posting this week; I'll be looking at my schedule and trying to find a way to make things work out so I can post more reliably. I woke up with this song stuck in my head. Frankly, it needs no description. It's AC/DC at their best. You know this song, you love this song, and I really think you should go listen to this song. Happy Friday!

Stuck In My Skull 493 -- "Skullclub"

Song: "Skullclub" || Aritst: The Glitch Mob || http://youtu.be/nk6wVLeIbdM ||
Comments: Hello everyone, and happy Friday! This week has kept me ridiculously busy, but nevermind me, let's talk about this momentous occasion! The new Glitch Mob album is out! Everything I've heard from it thus far has been absolutely amazing. It's got a new, more aggressive feel while simultaneously retaining that otherworldly beauty that is the hallmark of The Glitch Mob. The album also incorporates more vocals than Drink The Sea, as shown in this track. I don't mind it, though -- the songs are still epic. This song is one of the non/less-vocal songs on the album, and doesn't contain a featured artist providing the lyrics. Instead, it's just one or two lines. And let me tell you, those lines do amazing things to this track. It's been a very, very, very long time since I've been so pumped about either a song or an album. This stuff is amazing -- go listen!

Stuck In My Skull 492 -- "Single Ladies"

Written By Christopher Audiophile on Friday, February 7, 2014 | 2/07/2014 06:12:00 AM

Song: "Single Ladies" || Artist: Beyoncé || http://youtu.be/4m1EFMoRFvY ||
Comments: Good morning, everyone! Today I woke up with this song stuck in my head, and I have precisely no idea at all why. Not to say that I mind -- this song, like pretty much everything Beyoncé does, is excellent and incredibly catchy. I'm confident that most people reading this entry have heard the song at some point, and a good portion of you have probably seen the video too. It's iconic black and white style with the camera moving around three dancers is oft-parodied but never equaled (though I think the John Barrowman version really is excellent, but that might just be the Whovian/Dr. Who fan in me speaking). Musically, this song really makes the clap track work, treating it as percussion and using it to drive the fairly minimalist instrumentation. And I do mean minimalist: Beyoncé's voice, the clap/percussion, a trilling synthesizer, a second synthesizer under that, and some bass are pretty much all I hear in this song. To pull off such a hit song with so little instrumentation really reflects Beyoncé's skill and talent. Give this song a listen, and it'll brighten your day.

Also, I was copy/pasting the term "Beyoncé" the entire entry, because I still have no idea to add the accent above letters with a standard US keyboard, and I'm anal-retentive enough to think it's important.

Stuck In My Skull 491 -- "Bonfire"

Written By Christopher Audiophile on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 | 2/05/2014 08:13:00 AM

Song: "Bonfire" || Artist: Knife Party || http://youtu.be/e-IWRmpefzE ||
Comments: Good morning, everyone! After I realized a few days ago that I hadn't written about this song yet, I knew I had to. This song gets stuck in my head so regularly that I was under the impression I had blogged about it long ago. Seriously, this song pops into my head several times a week, and it's persistent as all get out. Knife Party's combination of reggae-style vocals and dubstep beats sounds weird for about a half of a second, then is the most natural thing ever. It's absolutely amazing. I highly recommend giving this song a listen.

Stuck In My Skull 490 -- "Push It To The Limit"

Written By Christopher Audiophile on Monday, February 3, 2014 | 2/03/2014 06:36:00 AM

Song: "Push It To The Limit" || Artist: Paul Engemann || http://youtu.be/9D-QD_HIfjA ||
Comments: Good morning everyone. Today's song comes from the movie Scarface, where it provided the background for a montage of the hero's ascent to power. My friend and workout buddy was playing it this morning before our run, and I have a sinking suspicion that it's going to get stuck in my head today. It's campy 80s goodness, and really does make you run faster. Check it out!
