Comments: Good morning everyone, and welcome to Stuck In My Skull's last (regular) post for 2013. I'll probably write a retrospective later so I won't waste too much of your time getting all wishy-washy and sentimental here. Today's song popped into my head out of nowhere, and I'm quite honestly surprised that I never blogged about it before. Back in the good old/bad old days of people using playlist.com, I had a playlist of songs that would later shape my tastes in metal, slavishly copied from my first metal playlist on Pandora. If I'm not mistaken, this song was on it. It's symphonic metal at its finest, and I remember the vocals of Sharon den Adel blowing me away when I first heard them. Honestly, they still blow me away. Sharon is without a doubt one of the most talented and recognizable voices in symphonic metal. Give this song a listen, and it'll blow you away too. Enjoy, and have a happy New Year!

Stuck In My Skull 478 -- "Can't Kill Us"

Comments: Wow, this took a long time to get posted. I was having serious technical problems on Wednesday and travelling for the holidays on Friday, but here I am to prove that nothing keeps a good song down. And what a song this is! The first single off the upcoming album LOVE DEATH IMMORTALITY, "Can't Kill Us" is an amazing track. It sounds darker than much of their work in Drink the Sea, but I love this sound. It's exceptionally well-produced, containing so many layers of instrumentation that I hear something new everytime I listen. The beat is amazing, containing a drum element that sounds faintly DnB under waffles that scream classic Glitch Mob. This song is epic, pure and simple. It's going to rock your world.

Stuck In My Skull 477 -- "Fistful of Silence"

Comments: Good morning, everyone! Sorry for the fistful of silence (couldn't resist the pun) that's been on this blog lately. I'm currently the only one writing and I've been crazy busy and had all sorts of problems come up. In essence, I'm living in a mild case of Murphy's Law. I think I've got everything sorted out now, and this should be the last time there'll be an unannounced hiatus from the blog. But enough about that, let's talk about the music. This song is the fifth track from The Glitch Mob's first studio album, Drink the Sea. I say first, because their new album comes out tomorrow and I'm so incredibly excited. "Fistful of Silence" is a slightly industrial-sounding track full of deep, bass-y goodness paired with some seriously incredible beats. The song is opened with a ridiculously excellent hook that I absolutely love, and powered by those glitchy melodies that only The Glitch Mob could come up with. Give this track a listen, and hold tight for the new album release!

Comments: Hello, everyone! For whatever reason I can't seem to make today's song embed in the post, so there's no nifty interactive "click here to hear an awesome song while you read" option. Despite that, you should definitely give this song a listen -- it's amazing. It's a great electro/hardore tune with some really excellent instrumentation. I really love the pairing of piano and aggressive synth line. Also, this song is a free download! That's right, check it out! (Fimbulwinter, if you're reading this, please enable embedding of your songs in Soundcloud -- I'd love to be able to embed it here.) Enjoy the track!
