Comments: Hello and happy Monday, everyone! After a lovely week off, Stuck In My Skull is back and at it again! Today's song comes from German duo Digitalism, and may be familiar if you follow the American TV show Person of Interest. It's got all the hallmarks of a down-tempo chill track except the feel, in which it's much harder than I usually associate with chill tracks. It's got a really excellent synth bass line driving the song that's incredibly catchy, and the rest of the song hits all the right notes to play off that bass. Stuck In My Skull 555 -- "Surrender"

Comments: Hello, everyone! I've got a shiny new track by Cash Cash for today's entry, and let me tell you now, this one is epic. I heard this song on the radio driving into work yesterday, and new that I absolutely had to share this. I stumbled upon Cash Cash when I saw their remix of Krewella's "Alive," but they've been doing plenty of work since that time. They've co-written Krewella's track "Live for the Night" and remixed for the likes of Capital Cities, Clean Bandit, Nicky Romero, Icona Pop, Hardwell, and even Katy Perry. With a record like that, perhaps it's not surprising that this song is excellent. It's nearest to the labels 'electrohouse' and 'progressive house,' and I'll be shocked if it doesn't chart fairly soon. The song has some really excellent beats that drive the energy, and unbelievably catchy vocals by an uncredited singer -- Wikipedia lists this excellent voice as Julia Michaels. Definitely check this song out, it's fantastic.

Comments: Happy Friday!  Sorry for the delay this morning, everyone. I am going a little out of my shell today and bringing some electronic music. I have never heard of Tommy Trash before today, but the two songs of his that I heard are the essence of electronic.  This song has an amazing pounding beat and beautiful transitions (and because of this it is great motivation to run harder while working out I found). Comments: TGIF! I don't know about you all, but it surely has been a long week for me and this song I heard on the radio for the first time. The song was actually released back in 2012, but this is the first I've known about it. I hadn't even been listening for 30 seconds before it had me dancing in my car.  It only has 3 million or so views on Youtube and I'm not okay with that. The drums in the background make me want to stomp to this beat and has a strong electronic beat. This group is relatively new and I'm hoping that they put out more songs like this one. Comments: Haaaaapy Friday!  Firstly, I need to apologize because there hasn't been much etc. in ETC, but I'm hoping that will change a bit come next week.  Like I said in a previous post, I have obtained a lot of new music and most of it is pop oriented, however, I'm going to try and mix it up a bit since you have been getting a lot of the common pop songs this week.  This song in particular didn't get nearly as much radio play as I would like.  Then again, the purity of Welch's voice makes me wish that most of her music gets more radio time then it does.  Calvin Harris, whom I have not previously heard of is apparently a Scottish DJ and if he produces many of songs in a similar fashion to this then I am all for it.  I need to look up some of his previous work because he is not new to the scene.  Anyhow, this song has a similar story line to Rihanna and Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" except the video takes place in a more street and bar setting versus the bedroom.  The video has a few intense moments. I only labeled this NSFW because of the brief nudity.  In the grand scheme of things it could be much worse, but just in case.  Happy listening!

Comments: Hey all! Amanda here! A couple months ago I posted Nero's  "Promises" from Welcome to Reality, the same album this song comes from. It samples the 80's track "Time to Move" by Carmen and though perhaps too repetitive at times is as catchy as all get out.  If electronic music really isn't your thing, I at least hope you can appreciate the music video. The vibe I get from it is reminiscent of Blade Runner and Back to the Future with a touch of Tron thrown in a la Daft Punk. Happy listening and have a fantastic weekend!

Entry 275-- "Promises"

Comments: Hello everyone! Amanda here! Today's pick was not at all what I had in mind for this entry. I intended to do something bluesy but after hearing "Promises" in a HP laptop commercial for the billionth time it finally stuck. Funny enough, I remember watching the music video when it came out over a year ago. From what I can tell, Nero is a dynamic electronic band. Admittedly, dubstep is not my favorite genre. I appreciate the fact that their music sounds more like Daft Punk than Skrillex and I think the female vocals have a lot to do with how catchy and danceable their songs are. Also, Nero seems to be trying hard to make videos that have some substance and tell a story, which I like. They also have an interesting visual style and compliment the music quite well.
